We’re pleased to report on a couple of developments here at The Wood Yard.
Tesco Parking Charges.
You’re probably all aware that Tesco (at some stage) intend to charge for parking at the Lion Meadow car park for stays of over 3 hours (exact time to be confirmed). Tesco lease their land from the council - we own the land here at The Wood Yard however, to get to our yard we have to go through their car park. Tesco’s cameras will pick up the registration numbers of all vehicles that enter their car park and if a vehicle does not leave within the “free time” permitted, the vehicle owner will be fined. We are asking Tesco to put an exit camera at the start of our road which runs parallel with the brook. This will mean that if you are visiting us, your number plate will be clocked as you enter their car park and recognised as leaving the car park as you enter our road. We may need to petition this to make this happen and if necessary would love your support. More to follow on this as the position becomes clearer…
You’ll remember that in the autumn we added another 5 x storage containers to our self-storage facility due to increasing demand. We have a mixture of short, medium and long term storage customers and have been delighted with the uptake since introducing this in 2015. We’re currently running at 90% occupancy and during 2017we intend to expand the amount of space offered for our increasing number of storage customers to keep up with demand. Watch this space.
Claddings and Decking.
As we approach the spring and the days get longer we’ll be promoting a wider range of timber (hardwoods and softwoods) as well as composite decking in a variety of colours. All are keenly priced and we have a new display area showing the different designs and species together with a free sample service. Thinking of smartening up outdoors, come and take a look!
